Final Test- 3 Parts
Guidelines
- You will demonstrate a knowledge of visual design terms & software techniques.
- You will reflect on your learning, skills, and professionalism (refer to the skills scale list).
- Be sure you understand how to make shapes, modify text, and create a logo in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Review composition concepts (rule of thirds, focal point, grids, balance, and readability).
- Remember layout techniques (bleeds, margins, page numbering, borders, size & format).
- A good knowledge of InDesign will help.
- Tips: be ready to setup a chart or infograph, you will submit jpeg images and software files.
Rules
- You have been given Parts 1 & 2 ahead of time so you can understand the importance of working on the weekly exercises and gaining a good understanding of how to use the software.
- You may do some prep and planning work before the test and bring this work to help you during the test.
- Your final design will be started and completed during the test period. Any final designs created before the test will not be accepted.
- The test will be 3 parts and you will be given part 3 once you start the test.
Learning Skills (soft skills) & Technical Skills (hard skills).
- Think of your learning skills (soft skills) as measuring your professional conduct. For example, if you decide to leave class early will you make up the time at home or are you just leaving to watch your favourite reality show?
- Technical skills are hard skills you are accumulating to be successful at a job.
